TLDR
NAD products will leave you feeling something!
Used NAD3, NR, NMN, and NAD and felt identical affects
A new found keeper in the supplement cabinet
NAD has become quite the buzzworthy topic in the past few years, especially within the realm of longevity research. Notably, advocates like David Sinclair have championed the idea of upping NAD levels to promote extended lifespan, better cognition, and heightened energy levels.
To be honest, I was initially skeptical, having dabbled in a plethora of supplements with varying degrees of success.
One of the doctors I closely follow is Dr. John Lieurance, who has been pivotal in my fasting and detoxification routines. Dr. Lieurance created a protocol known as the fast track fast, which entails priming the body with NAD prior to a fast, so that the cells have enough energy to purge senescent cells during the fast.
When I embarked on my fasting journey, I was keen on adding this protocol into my routine. Coincidentally, Ben Greenfield, who happened to be sponsored by a supplement company that produces a unique NAD supplement, was promoting it on his podcast.
The supplement is called NAD Regen, which contains a product called NAD3. Unlike conventional NAD precursors such as NR, NMN, or regular ole B3, NAD3 activates specific receptors that process NAD.
“NAD3® is a unique formulation made up of three ingredients; wasabi extract, theacrine & cuprous niacin. With over 5 years of clinical research and studies, this ingredient alone could make for a powerful supplement. Rather than simply boost NAD+, it fixes the root cause of NAD decline, allowing the body to produce and recycle natural stores”
What sealed the deal for me was the fact that this product also contains a generous dose of resveratrol and spermidine, two great stand alones in daily use.
Review
Now, having experimented with this product for a few months, I can really say that I am a believer. As someone who is acutely aware of what works and what doesn't, I can attest that this supplement is very noticeable.
It reminds me of when I first started taking B vitamins. After some tests revealed that I was under-methylating and needed folate, the energy boost I experienced was profound (which I now enjoy combining with NAD).
I can also say, with certainty, that this product elicits the same effects as NMN, NR, or plain old NAD. How do I know? Because I have also tried NAD suppositories (yes, you read that right!).
These suppositories, developed by Dr. John, are infused with a robust dose of NAD (500mg), NR (250mg), and NMN (250mg).
These little guys make you BUZZ. On my last day of fasting, just before Easter, I took one of these bad boys along with the NAD Regen, and the energy boost was so intense, it was almost overwhelming.
My chest felt like I had an electrode hooked to it.
So, to wrap this up, as mentioned, I was initially skeptical about the hype surrounding NAD. However, after experimenting with the various products, I have come to the realization that this will be a permanent addition to my stack. The energy boost is so evident that it's hard to ignore.
And if you really want a good boost in the AM, pair with a good B vitamin complex. Try this and let me know how you feel, even my brother
has reported similar affects.
